Diabetes affects one of every seven people in America. Currently it is estimated that 17 million people in the USA have diabetes. An equal number may have diabetes and be unaware of it. A total 60 million Americans may be affected by diabetes or prediabetes within the next ten years.

The Diabetes Center at Campbell County Memorial Hospital provides diabetes self management skills training to individuals who desire to learn how to have a healthier lifestyle while managing their diabetes.

The Diabetes Center offers diabetes self management education by certified diabetes educators with a combined experience of over 20 years in diabetes care.

FDA approved inhaled insulin! Trade name Exubera, manufactured by Pfzier, is be available to the general public. This new insulin will NOT be for every person with diabetes. It is a short acting insulin, can not be used in smokers or persons with lung disease. It is not approved for children. It is considered a rapid acting insulin for meal time coverage. Call for more information.


The Diabetes Center has Continuous Glucose Monitoring via the MiniMed CGMS unit. Call 688-2370 for more information.
